Overview
Title: Family Medicine Resident Physician
Overview: Dan was raised in Boise with a passion for travel. This aided in his decision to attend medical school in Australia with a program offering a global medical school experience and clinical experience in New Orleans. Daniel enjoys ultimate Frisbee, whitewater kayaking, and hiking.
Professional Summary:Practicing in Family Medicine has offered me the unique opportunity to provide people with this gift of their own health and the gratification of working as care team of patients, families, and colleagues alike. By studying in diverse populations I have had the opportunity to see not only diverse conditions but also novel strategies for managing problems both familiar and foreign. Pairing an Australian medical school with an American hospital enhanced my medical education by giving me an international perspective while still training in the US medical system.
Personal Summary: I really chose this program because of the staff. Their energy and commitment to teaching/training residents blew me away. I felt like this program, more than any other I interviewed at, was entirely resident-centric. Everyone has the focus and commitment to make this program become one of the best, and I wanted to be a part of that. I grew up in Boise and have always been drawn to the mountains and rivers of the Northwest. Traveling has also been an important part of my life, though, so when I had the opportunity to train in jointly in Brisbane and New Orleans, I leapt on it. While I love being outdoors for hiking, biking, or whitewater kayaking, I usually gravitate towards ultimate Frisbee whenever I relocate to a new community.
