Overview
Title: Family Medicine Resident Physician
Overview: I am a Family Medicine resident training in full spectrum care. While I truly love my job and having the opportunity to care for any patient, I am particularly passionate about taking a holistic approach to mental and behavioral health, adolescent medicine, LGBTQ health needs, and sexual health and function.
Professional Summary: I attended the University of Washington for undergraduate education and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in neurobiology. I then attended the University of Michigan Medical School where I was one of 10 students selected from my class to be a Dean’s Scholar, which gave me a full tuition scholarship as well as allowed me to serve the school by helping reform curriculum and influence the medical education. At graduation I was chosen to receive the Graduate of the Year award from the department of Family Medicine. During my schooling I took opportunities to study healthcare in rural Michigan as well as abroad in Mumbai, India. I was also active in student organizations addressing state and national health care policy, LGBTQ issues, and reproductive rights for women.
Personal Summary: I grew up near Seattle on Bainbridge Island, Washington. I was first exposed to medicine by my parents; my mother was the town’s only pediatrician and my father was the only veterinarian. Just before medical school I married my wife, also from the Seattle area, and we now love living in Coeur d’Alene with our two kids and taking advantage of all the outdoor fun there is to be had here.
