Patrick and his family join our program from Charlottesville, Virginia. His pursuits outside of medicine include spending time with his wife and children (preferably outdoors on an adventure), hunting, fly-fishing, surfing, sailing, free-diving, and trying to play the guitar while he serenades his children in the bathtub.
Patrick graduated from the United States Naval Academy where he obtained a degree in oceanography. After college, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot and forward air controller. Patrick then captained his own sailing vessel, the Night Cloud, on a two-year voyage with his wife in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Caribbean Sea. In 2018, he graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine where he completed the Generalist Scholars Program – a program designed to create leaders in primary care. Patrick’s medical interests include most aspects of medicine, which is why he became a family doctor. He enjoys caring for the entire family from newborn to geriatrics and building relationships. His specific medical interests are improving the health of communities through primary care, preventive and lifestyle medicine, and sports medicine. He was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Wilderness Medical Society.
