Alumni
The success of our graduates is one of the greatest measures of our program. While many choose to build their careers in Idaho and throughout the Pacific Northwest, Kootenai Health Family Medicine Residency alumni are practicing across the country in every corner of family medicine. Our graduates serve in outpatient primary care, rural full-spectrum practices with and without obstetrics, emergency medicine, urgent care, hospital medicine, geriatrics, and palliative care.
Many have pursued advanced fellowship training in Rural Medicine, Addiction Medicine, Sports Medicine, Behavioral Health, Obstetrics, Geriatrics & Palliative Care, and HIV/Viral Hepatitis, while others have gone directly into practice, confidently caring for the communities they serve.
Our graduates consistently demonstrate excellence, achieving a 100% first-attempt American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) board certification pass rate.

- 80% practicing in western states: Idaho, Washington, Montana, Oregon, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming
- Other states include Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Pennsylvania
