University of Iowa College of Medicine

I was born and raised in Iowa City, IA and completed all of my higher education at the University of Iowa: first with a degree in piano performance and then on to medical school. My third year of medical school I fell in love with family medicine after completing a rural clinic rotation. I am passionate about seeing patients as people and taking a wholistic approach to their care, and full-spectrum family medicine is uniquely suited to achieve these goals. I chose the Kootenai health residency program for the full-spectrum, patient-centered training and supportive learning environment. I ultimately plan to pursue a fellowship in surgical obstetrics after residency. I had never been to Idaho before my KH FMR interview day, but I was instantly taken by the beauty of Coeur d’Alene and was wholly impressed by what this training program had to offer. Choosing this training program has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made. In my free time I love to read, hike, and spend lots of time with my German Shepherd, Evie.
