I chose family medicine because it combines so many of the things I love about medicine — pediatrics, women’s health, inpatient and preventive care — in one specialty built on long-term relationships. Most of all, I value the lasting connections family physicians build with individuals and families over time, and my clinical training reinforced my commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care for rural and community populations.

I chose Kootenai because of the strong sense of community I felt throughout the interview process — residents who genuinely care about one another and faculty invested in resident success both professionally and personally. As a parent, I especially appreciated how family life is embraced here. Outside of medicine, my husband and I love getting outdoors— visiting parks, hiking, and skiing in the winter. I also enjoy gardening (especially growing flowers and berries), pilates and barre, and quiet time with a good book.  North Idaho feels like the ideal place to train, build a career, and raise our family.
