Michael lived in Kansas until the age of 11, at which time his family moved to Minneapolis. He stayed in Minneapolis for his undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Biochemistry before moving to South Dakota for medical school. He fell in love with the mountain west when he moved to the Black Hills to complete clinical rotations. He really enjoys exploring the outdoors and looks forward to many adventures in the Couer d’Alene area. Michael and his fiance love dogs, basketball, and trying all types of food.
Michael looks forward to having a diverse practice throughout his professional career. In fact, he said he would have a difficult time if he never got to see pediatric,geriatric, or obstetric patients, so family medicine provides an incredible opportunity for him to live out his passion of caring for everyone in his community. He is a strong believer in the importance of preventive medicine and emphasizing positive lifestyle changes. It is the role of a physician to be an educator of their patients, and he is passionate about keeping his patients engaged and informed in their health.
